Dr. Gary Fitzgerald

During his time in chiropractic school his thesis on how the birth process affects children was both published and presented at the World Federation of Chiropractic Symposium. In addition to this, he graduated with the Flavio Grillo prize for the most clinically proficient intern in his graduating class.
After graduating he has continually sought to improve his knowledge base by travelling to the most recent seminars and conferences which has led to further experience and certification in techniques such as Applied Kinesiology, Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT), Thompson Drop, Gonstead, Diversified, Torque Release Technique, Activator Methods, Webster Protocol and the chiropractic care of pregnant mothers. Dr. Gary has also been awarded an International Chiropractic Sports Science Diploma (ICSSD) and has completed further university training for a postgraduate diploma in Sports Science being the only chiropractor in the MENA region with university level postgraduate specialisation in sports science.
Dr. Gary’s treatment philosophy is based on two principles: “find the cause not the symptom” and “every patient is different”. He believes that the majority of unsuccessful treatment stems from just focusing on the symptom and gets great pleasure in helping people who may have been frustrated by a lack of improvement in the past who are then frequently surprised that their back pain, shoulder pain or headaches may actually be coming from their feet, jaw or hip.Every patient is unique and therefore he believes every treatment should be unique so uses a variety of techniques with patients depending on their condition and comfort level. He has been consulted by over 20,000 new patients and is known for his practical, logical and balanced approach to patients and as a result he is consulted on an ongoing basis for second opinions especially for recurrent issues, previously failed treatment and people who have been advised to undergo medical procedures. In addition, he continually receives professional referrals from family physicians, orthopaedists, neurologists, physiotherapists and trainers, and direct referrals from existing patients.
His has a diverse range of patients, from office workers with headaches and homemakers with back pain to elite athletes. He commonly sees pregnant patients to help not just pain and discomfort during pregnancy but also with the aim of leading to an easier delivery and is frequently consulted to help in the case of breech presentations. Additionally he has a particularly keen interest in sports performance and has a proven track record of helping patients ranging from local sports people to professional international athletes, with current and previous patients including multiple World and Olympic Champions, professional football players (including Premier League, Champions League and World Cup winners), multiple Grand Slam tennis champions, Top 10 golfers and rugby world cup winners. He also frequently travels to treat sports people and teams abroad and at international sports events.
Dr.Gary has lectured to government departments, presented at the largest medical conference in the Middle East and has appeared on TV and in newspapers both in Europe and the UAE, in addition to having multiple publications in medical journals. He is licenced with the regulatory bodies in the UAE, UK, Australia and New Zealand, and sits on the examination panel for prospective candidates applying for licences with Dubai Health Authority. He is a founder member of the Emirates Chiropractic Association and a member of the Emirates Medical Association, the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic and the UAE National Chiropractic Sports Council.
