So, by now you probably have heard of, read about or been tagged in Instagram posts about the launch of the inaugural Dubai Fitness Challenge. For this 30×30 challenge, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Crown Prince of Dubai, has urged all Dubai residents to join him in committing to 30 minutes of daily activity for 30 days from October 20 to 18 November as part of an initiative to make Dubai the most active city in the world this year.
Now tell us, what was the first thing you thought of when you heard the word ‘challenge’? For some, the first words that came to mind were: ‘tough’ and ‘obstacle.’ So, if that’s how you feel about it, why do we think that you should you accept this new challenge? Simple— All new challenges represent an opportunity for growth, and this one is no different!
Now for some, at the first look, the 30×30 challenge doesn’t seem like much of a challenge at all. After all, how hard could it be to be active 30 minutes a day for 30 days, right? But when you get to thinking, you realize that in reality the hardest part about exercise is, well, doing it. Just waking up and putting on your workout gear and motivating yourself to get moving can be a battle in itself! And the hardest part of that, are those first steps—that transition from the idea of being active, to the reality of actually doing the activity itself.
But the way that this specific challenge is set up is ideal for exactly for that reason! Think about it: When you join a fitness challenge, and you do it with other people, you commit to a team or even one other person to do something on a regular basis, and that gives you a sense of accountability, and accountability is a very good thing in your fitness goals. Research shows that people who have workout partners succeed in their fitness goals MUCH more often than those who go it alone. You don’t want to let down the team, right? You want to contribute! Be accountable and stay the course, and we promise you’ll see results!
And while it goes without saying, our entire team at The Hundred is taking part in the challenge, and we hope that ALL of you will join us! Let’s make history together!
Long story short: World, you’re on!!
